The Fifth Season: An Exhibition of Works by Khuda Bux Abro

Join us at Faraar Gallery for an exhibition by Khuda Bux Abro
Opening Date: Tuesday, 7 September 2010 | 3:00 pm

Walls contain and confine, they define the space within and limit the vision. But in this case, several walls define different aspects of Khuda Bux Abro’s work and then come together to express the inner element, the fifth season of the heart which defines the quintessence of his work ranging from one medium to the other.

Khuda Bux Abro is a restless soul. He works from the anguish of his soul, trying to express his many moods and transient feelings. From the beginning of his artistic career, he has worked with different mediums and different styles. These paintings, contemporary and subjective, touch upon and emerge from the issues and contradictions of the society around us. Contradictions which take on added colours in Abro’s work. You look at walls of the gallery and then let your eyes travel back to the centre of the room. There is no wall there, only you. And the paintings are in the eyes of the beholder.

ABRO ON ABRO

Paint, brush, pen, camera, computer, colours and canvas, all are my mediums and tools. Through these I explore and express myself whenever I get moments to myself. My works let you see through the window to the fifth season of colours, dreams, images and melodies of my inner world, alive inside me throughout the year, be it spring or autumn, summer or winter. The fifth season makes me breathe with poetry, literature and music, and gives me continuous energy to transform my surroundings; like other creative beings, past and present … poets, thinkers, Sufis, musicians, singers and writers who live for peace and love and have made this world so beautiful.
